Google Latest Software Update: 5 Features coming to Chrome for Mobile

Google's new features are set to be rolled out to Chrome's Android and iOS users

Google, in a blog post, has announced five (5) features that'll be coming to mobile version of its Chrome browser. First, Google said it'll be adding "Chrome Actions" to local search results. This feature allows Chrome users to easily perform specific actions, such as calling a restaurant, getting directions, or reading reviews, directly from the search results. The Chrome Actions will be available on both iOS and Android versions of the app.

Secondly, Google unveiled "a new design for the address bar on tablets". This updated design allows users to open the Chrome address bar to search without covering the current webpage. Users can still see the webpage they are on, making it easy to return to it if they decide not to perform a search.

Furthermore, the address bar will feature "enhanced search suggestions". Based on the search terms entered, Chrome's address bar will display relevant information to assist users more effectively. For example, if someone searches using the term "schedules," Chrome might suggest the local City Metro schedule to help users find desired information more quickly. This feature aims to provide more contextually useful suggestions directly within the search bar.

With the latest update, Google is adding the "ability to see trending searches" to the iOS version of its mobile browser. This feature, already available in the Android version, allows users to see what popular searches are happening at any given moment across Google Search. Now, Apple device owners can also access this feature to stay updated on current trending topics.

Lastly, the Google's latest Chrome mobile update introduces the "ability to set up customizable live sports cards in its Discover Feed on a new tab". Users can add their favorite teams to the feed, and Chrome will automatically display the latest scores and highlights from recent matchups whenever they open a new tab. This feature allows sports enthusiasts to easily stay updated on their favorite teams' performances directly from their browser.

In summary, the upcoming features update of Chrome for mobile (iOS and Android) includes expanded Chrome Actions for local businesses, personalized address bar shortcuts, a redesigned tablet address bar, and trending search suggestions for iOS users. These latest updates are set to be rolled out to Android and iOS users this week. However, it's possible that some users may not see them immediately. The company has not specified the exact date for when the Chrome Actions feature will be added this fall.
