OPay Card is a debit card which is available for use at any ATMs, POS or web transactions in Nigeria. The card can be request via your OPay App and you can also get it from any accredited OPay agent near you.

Yes OPay Card is free, but not totally free. As highlighted in the image below, OPay Card issuance fee and maintenance fee are free. However, delivery and pickup will incur for a fee of N2500.

However, OPay Virtual Card is completely free. You can login to your OPay App to request the card. The virtual card will be available to use in less than 24 hours.

In other words, the OPay virtual card can only be used to purchase goods and services on Nigeria website denominated in Naira. Note that the card cannot be used to transact in USD or any foreign currencies.

Does OPay have MasterCard or VISA Card?

No, OPay doesn't offer a MasterCard nor Visa card on either it physical debit card or virtual card. Currently, OPay is only offering Verve Card which is limited within Nigeria only.

To use card for international transactions, you may have to explore other card option on fintech apps like Chipper Cash or ALAT.

Hence, if you request OPay debit card, you should be expecting a verve card. OPay only issue Verve Card as physical debit card and virtual card.

In a nutshell, OPay doesn't offer a virtual dollar card, a MasterCard or VISA Card. To get those cards, you may have to open a domiciliary account or explore other fintechs that's offering it.

How to get OPay Card?

To request for OPay physical debit card, kindly login to your OPay Account and tap on "Card" tab at the bottom of your app dashboard. Click on "Home Delivery" or "Pickup from nearby Merchant".

If you're interested in home delivery, if will cost you N2,500 as shown in the image above. However, the pick up from nearest merchant will cost you N500 card issuance fees.

The home delivery will require you to setup your home address where the card will be delivered to while the near merchant will redirect you to Google Map where you can locate OPay agent/merchant that's very close to you.

The home delivery can take upto 48 hours or more to get your card. However, the pick-up from near merchant is instantly.

Can I use OPay Card for online payment?

Yes, you can definitely use both OPay's physical debit card and virtual card for web purchases and any form of online payment so far the price is in Naira. However, it's important to note that none of OPay cards can be use for international transactions.
